Sam Pee Yalley, a former ambassador to India, claims Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is British.
In an XYZ TV interview on Thursday, June 8, 2023, monitored by pampaso.com, Yalley revealed that the data he has shown shows that the vice president had British citizenship when he worked for the Bank of Ghana in the UK.
He stated that the vice president never resigned his British citizenship, like the former MP for Assin North, James Gyakye Quayson, who was removed for not abandoning his Canadian citizenship on time.

Bawumia’s record at the Bank of Ghana in London shows that he is a British citizen, now that the Supreme Court has ruled that dual citizens cannot be parliamentarians. Before ex-President Kufuor brought him to Ghana in 2009, he was British.

After the Supreme Court of Ghana’s judgment on former Assin North MP James Gyakye Quayson’s validity, Sam Pee Yalley said this:
The Supreme Court ordered Ghana’s Parliament to delete James Gyakye Quayson’s MP status on May 17, 2023.
In the Michael Ankomah Nimfah vs. James Gyakye Quayson case, the Supreme Court determined that Quayson was ineligible to run in 2020.
The court found that the former Assiniboine North MP failed to prove that he had renounced his Canadian citizenship when he filed his 2020 general election nomination.
