Shatta Wale, a dancehall singer, has called out a daughter of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for reportedly interfering in a subject that might lead to a clash between himself and industry competitor Stonebwoy.
Shatta claimed in a Facebook live on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, that attempts were made by officials of the National Sports Authority (NSA) and a daughter of the president whom he refused to name to allow Stonebwoy to host a show at the Accra Sports Stadium on the same date that he is also scheduled to hold an event at the same venue.
According to Shatta Wale, his Freedom Wave Concert, which was scheduled for December 20 to 26, 2023, is in jeopardy because the NSA, on the directive of the president’s daughter, has decided to release the Accra Sports Stadium to Stonebwoy for his event on December 22, three days before his own concert at the stadium.
“When we tell you that what you’re doing will cause a problem because if Stonebwoy dey come do his show on the 22nd, it’ll go into the 23rd.” “How many days do you want us to set up and celebrate?” he asked in pidgin.
He highlighted that the timing for Stonebwoy’s concert will not allow him and his crew to adequately set up for the Freedom Wave Concert’s finale, and therefore questioned the reason behind the president’s daughter’s apparent interference in the situation.
