NPP Flagbearer race: More endorsements pour in for Afriyie Akoto

Numerous Constituency Chairmen in the Greater Accra Region have endorsed Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, the Flagbearer aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), in his quest to become the party’s leader in next year’s presidential and parliamentary elections.

Dr. Akoto’s constituents, including Ashaiman, La Dadekotopon, Shai Osodoku, and Prampram, have publicly and unquestionably demonstrated their unwavering support for his candidature.

When he embarked on a tour of the Greater Accra Region, they publicly pledged their support for him.

According to the Constituency Chairmen, the former Minister of Agriculture is, by all measures, the finest candidate to lead the party to victory in the 2024 election.

“A word to the wise is sufficient; consider your current living situation and vote for a candidate who, if elected president, will establish the conditions necessary for you to contribute value to your life. This leader is indeed Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto. In the impending Special Voting procedure, I, as Chairman, will follow your instructions. I will vote for Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto if you tell me to. I believe in his ability. Consequently, he will receive my vote. As you have requested that I vote for Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto on 26 August 2023, I urge you to vote massively for him on 4 November 2023 during the National Congress. He is the ideal candidate to lead the NPP to victory, according to La Dadekotopon Chairman Kingsley Samuel Addison.

“Honourable, what the delegates in Ashaiman are saying is that, as the Bible says, God can do everything except glorify himself, just as the delegates in Ashaiman claim. In the same manner, we have faith in you and know that you are capable of everything except praising yourself. “Therefore, the delegates in Ashaiman have instructed me to inform you that they will praise you for everything you have done for the party and Ghana on August 26 during the Special Congress and on November 4, 2023 during the general election,” Ashaiman Constituency NPP Chairman Gbeku Amanor said to thunderous applause from the delegates.

Francis Kwabena Martey, chairman of Shai Osudoku, stated, “Dr. Owusu Afriyie has demonstrated beyond a reasonable doubt that he is more than capable of steering this country to the land of prosperity. We cannot make a mistake in this election. Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto is the best candidate to lead the NPP to end the 8-year cycle of governance. He has a fantastic vision for Ghana, and all we can do to support him is vote for him to win the Flagbearer election. I will vote for him in the Special Delegates Congress, and I strongly urge you to do the same on November 4, 2023.”

Ten candidates in the race for flagbearer have passed the screening process and are now eligible to vote for their positions on the ballot for the election.

The former ministers are Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, Mr. Boakye Agyarko, Mr. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, Mr. Francis Addai-Nimoh, and Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku.

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former Minister of Trade and Industry Mr. Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, former Minister of Justice and Attorney General Mr. Joe Ghartey, energy expert Mr. Kwadwo Opoku, and Member of Parliament for Assin Central Mr. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong make up the remainder of the group.

On August 26, 2023, a Special Delegates Congress will be convened to select five presidential candidates.

On November 4, 2023, the top five candidates will compete for the flagbearer position to determine who will represent the party in the general election of 2024.
