The polygamous man of God appeared before a five-member panel on Tuesday at the Asantehemaa’s palace, where they found him guilty of the charges and were joined by a number of his church members.
According to Ghanaweb.com, Pastor Macaiah Addai allegedly received orders to slaughter four lambs in order to atone for his transgressions and appease the local deities.
But a well-known chief in Kumasi who petitioned for a lighter sentence was able to aid Pastor Macaiah. Following the approval of the petitions, the pastor was instructed to bring only two sheep, which were then exchanged for GH6000 in cash as opposed to four animals. Pastor Macaiah paid the bill right away.
Additionally, he was told to pay GH20,000 to Kofi Adjei, a fellow churchgoer whose wife he is accused of stealing from and having an affair with.

Adjei told the five-person panel at the Manhyia palace that he and Gloria Amponsa had been happily married for 21 years and had reared their children in a peaceful environment. However, his wife suddenly began acting strangely, and his attempts to mend the relationship fell apart.
Adjei approached Pastor Macaiah Addai and the church elders in the hopes that they could help. The man of God, however, told Adjei that he could not help them reconcile their disputes. It was revealed to the distressed churchgoer that Gloria Amponsa had already informed him that she was no longer his wife and had given Adjei’s family drinks to inform them of the divorce.
Adjei had no idea that Pastor Macaiah was to blame for his predicament.
Two days later, I discovered that my wife and Pastor Macaiah Addai were a married couple. Adjei told the panel of chiefs that he had tried unsuccessfully for more than a year and a half to get his wife to return home.
Pastor Macaiah said that he married Gloria Amponsa because she told him she had called off her engagement to Kofi Adjei when given the chance to defend himself.
He continued by claiming that because he adheres to Jewish marriage laws and traditions, which provide men the choice to skip giving a dowry to the family of a divorced woman, he did not perform any marriage rites for Gloria.
After declining to answer the panel’s pointed questions, Pastor Macaiah decided it would be best to admit guilt.
