During Ghana’s Group H match against South Korea at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Maha Ayew, the mother of Black Stars duo Andre Dede Ayew and Jordan Ayew, was compelled to leave the Education City Stadium.
Jordan claims that his mother had to leave the game before it ended because she was unable to endure how traumatic it was.
The Crystal Palace employee said that Maha quit between 65 and 70 minutes into the game because he was unable to handle the pressure of holding onto a narrow lead in the dying seconds.
“My mother was unable to continue watching the game after 65 or 70 minutes. The stadium had to be left by her. We relish the tension in its current state. She was under a lot of stress. She just couldn’t watch it because she cares so much about the game. She admitted that it was difficult for her to watch her two sons play, as reported by Ghana Soccernet.
During the match, Ghana established a two-goal lead in the first half before Korea tied the score with a strong start to the second half.
The Black Stars replied, took back the lead, and held on to earn their first and only victory of the competition.
Mohammed Salisu scored the opening goal after a rebound from a wonderful pass by Jordan Ayew. Later, he added another magnificent cross, which Kudus Mohammed acknowledged as the second.
With a cross from the right in the 68th minute, Kudus gave Ghana the lead again after Cho Gue-sung’s brace had leveled the score for Korea.
