I don’t want to be referred to as former parliamentary candidate – Ho central MCE vows to win seat

Divine Bosson, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Ho, has declared his intention to unseat Edem Kofi Kpotsu, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for the Ho Central Constituency in the impending 2024 general elections.

Mr. Bosson, who submitted his nomination forms at the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) constituency office on Tuesday, August 20, 2023, vowed to go the extra mile to win the election.

“After 2024, I do not want to be referred to as a former parliamentary candidate,” he stated. God willing, I aspire to be a Member of Parliament (MP) by 2025.”

Speaking to the media following the acceptance of his nomination forms by the constituency executives, the Ho MCE, accompanied by the NPP Constituency Chairman, Frank Ahaze, sent a strong message to his opponents, asserting that the constituency had not been “sold” to any party and that the opportunity to serve the constituents should be used to improve their lives.

“It is a privilege for them to serve the constituents, but they have failed us throughout the fourth republic, from 1992 to the present day. We gave them our authority so they could represent us and improve the lives of constituents, but we don’t see that happening,” he said.

Mr. Bosson exuded confidence in his ability to nurture development in the district and urged all party members and Ho Municipality residents to coalesce behind him and vote for him.

On his part, the NPP Constituency Chairman exhorted the prospective parliamentary candidates and their supporters to conduct a respectful and dignified campaign, imploring them to refrain from insults and personal attacks.

Thursday, August 10, 2023 is the last day to submit nominations for all orphan constituencies under the NPP’s banner.

The MCE’s determined campaign to unseat the incumbent NDC representative in the Ho Central Constituency augurs well for a dynamic and engaging electoral contest in the upcoming general elections.
