Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum is confident in his team’s ability to grow as the BetPawa Premier League season progresses.
Ogum is in his second season with the Porcupine Warriors, having led the team to the league title in 2020/21.
On Sunday, September 17, he led Kotoko to a goalless draw against returnees Heart of Lions in match day one of the betPawa Premier League at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Despite the opening performance, Ogum expressed pleasure with his players’ individual efforts while emphasising that there is still potential for growth, expressing faith that the squad would advance positively as the season progresses.
“So, to me, what I saw today is a good individual player,” Ogum stated to the reporters after picking up a point on his comeback. But we can do better than that. It’s excellent, excellent, excellent. So what I observed was positive. It’s OK with me. I have no doubt that as the season develops, this club will improve on both offence and defence. We create more opportunities and can win games. As a result, I’m really confident.”
The next game for Asante Kotoko will be an away match against Bibiani Gold Stars on Sunday, September 22.
