The U-23 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Morocco, will see the Black Meteors, Ghana’s U-23 national football team, take on the U-23 national team of Egypt.
According to the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Coach Ibrahim Tanko will fly out with the team on Monday to continue training in Cairo, where the team will play a number of games to stay in form before the competition.
The teams are rumored to have agreed to a friendly game on Thursday that will help both squads get ready for the competition.
The Black Meteors will face Egypt next, whom they defeated in the penultimate round of qualifiers, giving them another chance to rethink their strategy for taking on Morocco, another team from Northern Africa.
Ghana will play in Group A alongside the hosts Morocco, Congo, and Guinea, while Egypt—the reigning champions—will take on Mali, Gabon, and Niger.
The Black Meteors will try to place in the top three in the competition in order to qualify for the Olympic Games once more.
