Cynthia Okereke, a veteran Nollywood actress, died one year after being injured in a kidnapper’s hideout. A colleague in the entertainment business named Joseph Okechukwu announced the sad news on his official Facebook page. The director revealed that, prior to Cynthia Okereke’s untimely death on Tuesday evening, July 11, he was prepared to purchase her plane ticket to fly to America. Remember that on Friday, July 29, 2022, the late actress Clemson Cornel and a friend were kidnapped on their way to and from a shooting location in Ozalla, Enugu State. Actress Monalisa Chinda, who also serves as the Actors Guild of Nigeria’s Director of Communications, made the announcement. According to Monalisa, the actors were reported missing when their families confirmed that they hadn’t returned from the production. However, after a few days with the underworld’s soldiers, they were eventually let free. A few Nollywood actors have paid tribute to the late actress, who was well-known for her maternal roles in illustrious Nigerian movies.
